Wayne Bean served a 5 year apprenticeship as a Machinist in South Africa, worked in various other fields before moving into the newspaper business 39 years ago.

Started at the South Bay Daily Breeze (Copley) as a Press Machinist.

Worked for Tucson Newspapers 28 years as Production Maintenance Manager, Pressroom Manager, Production Manager, and finally as VP Operations.

Recently retired as the Director of Operations at the San Fernando Facility in Chatsworth, CA.

Engineering diploma from Natal Technical College in South Africa, attended Pima Community College and University of Arizona in Tucson.

Metro Users member since 1970 have (attended meetings for 38 years) served on many MUG committees including Vice President and President.

Five time Gannett President's Ring winner.
