Russell J. Christensen, Print Quality Manager, worked at the Los Angeles Times for 40 years. Russ began his career in February of 1968 as an apprentice pressman at the then newly constructed Orange County Satellite facility.

In 1972, he became a Journeyman Pressman. He then joined the OC Pressroom Management Team in 1975 and was a team member for over 12 years.

In December of 1990, Russ was promoted to Pressroom Training and Print Quality Manager for all production facilities.

Russ was an active member of the IFRA Print Quality Color Club (1998-2002). During IFRA's Print Quality Initiative he worked as a liaison between the Digital Pre-Press Color Lab and the three Pressrooms.

He attended the Metro Users Conference since 1983, the year the Los Angeles Times installed the first Metroliner presses in Orange County. The Metro Users conference is one of the most informative conferences one can attend. As a Metro Users board member, Russ was committed to the group's goals of developing cost saving ideas, increasing revenue-enhancing opportunities, improving maintenance procedures and encouraging strong communication networking between users.
